Marcel Groleau

UPA President, honorary conference co-president and conventional farmer

Mr. Groleau is co-owner, with his brother Denis, of the D.M. Groleau farm in Thetford Mines, and has been president of the Union des Producteurs Agricoles since 2011. Their farm has 250 ha of land and 225 head of thoroughbred Holstein cattle. He has been active in agricultural unionism for over 20 years, and is a past president of the Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec where, among other achievements, he greatly promoted the development of organic dairy products.

Marcel Groleau is a force for unity, and wants Québec farmers, both conventional and organic, to work together to develop sustainable agriculture and meet the needs of the organic market. He will act as conference co-president with the organic farmer Daniel Lampron.
